Brian X. Scott, a 53-year-old Colorado man, filed the complaint in early April. He argues that the military's use of private security contractors is "against America's core values" and violates an 1893 law that prohibits the government from hiring quasi-military forces.

I so hope this will become good news. Not only do I think hiring mercenaries violates what America is supposed to be, but it weakens the military. What is spent on the mercs is NOT spent on our troops; also since they see more money in the private units, they get expensive military training and get out and join a private organization.
